A fixed gas detector is a 24-hour online monitoring device designed for continuous detection of gas concentrations in industrial environments or pipelines, serving as an essential safety instrument for toxic and combustible gas leak detection and alarm systems. These devices are permanently installed at indoor and outdoor hazardous locations where gas leaks may occur, providing real-time monitoring capabilities that immediately transmit concentration data to gas alarm controllers for processing when toxic gas leakage is detected. <br> <br>The installation location plays a critical role in achieving optimal detection performance. When determining placement, multiple factors must be comprehensively considered, including the density of potential gas leak points, the specific gravity of target gases, influence of surrounding buildings, age of production equipment, prevailing wind directions, weather conditions throughout the year, and the location of doors and windows for indoor installations. Proper distance from potential leakage points is essential—positioning too close may cause excessive alarms or alarm fatigue from frequent activations, while positioning too far may result in slow response times or complete failure to detect leaks. The detector should generally be installed in the downwind direction of leakage points, and when monitoring outdoor leak sources from indoors, placement at air intake points is recommended. <br> <br>ATO series fixed gas detectors cover an extensive range of detectable gases, including ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, chlorine, hydrogen, nitrogen, ozone, carbon monoxide, and many others. Specific models include fixed nitrogen detectors with 0-100% Vol measuring range and 3% F.S accuracy with 10-second response times; nitrogen dioxide detectors offering optional ranges of 0-100/500/1000 ppm with explosion-proof design; oxygen detectors covering 0-25% or 0-30% Vol ranges; and specialized detectors for phosphine, sulfur dioxide, benzene, hydrogen cyanide, methane, and numerous other industrial gases. Power supply requirements range from 12-24V DC, with signal output options including 4-20mA analog signals and RS485 digital communication. Cable requirements specify shielded cables for power and 4-20mA signals, with twisted pairs recommended for RS485 connections. Regular maintenance includes cleaning the explosion-proof disc of sensors using low-pressure compressed air to prevent dust and impurity accumulation that could affect detection sensitivity. <br> <br>These detectors incorporate multiple safety and convenience features, including sound and light alarms, real-time digital displays, infrared remote control functionality for non-contact operation, and explosion-proof designs for hazardous environments. Relay outputs provide interface capabilities with external control systems, enabling automated responses to alarm conditions.
