There’s this quiet belief a lot of singles carry—even if they don’t say it out loud.
It’s the feeling that life hasn’t really started yet. That you’re waiting for marriage to unlock something—your value, your voice, your direction. And until that happens, everything feels… pending.
But your worth? It’s not in limbo.
It’s not waiting for a title, a wedding, or someone else to confirm it. It’s already set—defined by a God who created you on purpose and for a purpose, regardless of your relationship status.
Your Value Doesn’t Begin With a Relationship
It’s easy to connect your worth to external things: a partner, a role, recognition, or even approval from your church or community. But here’s what’s true—you’re already valuable because you’re already His.
Genesis says you were made in God’s image. Ephesians says you were created for good works. Psalm 139 says you’re fearfully and wonderfully made. None of that is conditional. It doesn’t say, “once you’re married” or “once someone chooses you.”
Singleness doesn’t diminish your identity. It doesn't press pause on your purpose. It’s not a waiting period until you become useful or important. You matter now.
If you’ve ever sat through a sermon or a wedding or a family gathering and felt like the odd one out, remember this: God doesn’t rank your season. He doesn't see you as “not yet.” He sees you as fully known, fully loved, and fully called.
There’s Purpose Right Where You Are
Your life isn’t on hold. There is work to be done and joy to be found, right here.
Singleness gives you space to serve freely, grow deeply, and build boldly. It gives you time to develop gifts, invest in others, chase dreams, and pour into your relationship with Christ. These aren’t “consolation prizes”—they’re kingdom work.
Think about the people God used throughout Scripture: Paul, Mary Magdalene, Jeremiah, even Jesus. None of them were married when they fulfilled some of the most meaningful work in their lives.
God’s plans for you don’t depend on your relationship status. They depend on your surrender.
So if you've been waiting to feel valuable until someone chooses you, let this be your reminder: you’ve already been chosen. Not by a spouse, but by the One who defines your worth. The One who calls you to walk with purpose today—not “someday.

This book really spoke to me. As a single woman, it’s rare to find something that doesn’t make you feel like you’re ‘waiting’ for something to happen. Instead, this book helped me see that I’m already whole in Christ. It’s honest, uplifting, and beautifully written.
