Lore tablets scattered through the halls recount the failed experiments of Azarian's father. Some inscriptions are written in the scholar's hand, others in the poe2 trade trembling script of his son. Reading them in sequence reveals the descent from curiosity to despair a slow unraveling that mirrors the player's own journey through the dungeon.
At the dungeon's heart lies Azarian himself. His chamber, the Inner Vestibule, is a massive rotunda illuminated by fractured beams of light streaming from unseen sources. Half the room glows with ethereal brilliance, the other half cloaked in shadow. Azarian stands between them, his body divided by a spectral scar running from crown to heel a visual manifestation of his torn soul.
At first, Azarian appears almost human, wielding the same relic that destroyed his family as a focus for devastating light-based attacks. He channels beams that split upon impact, forcing players to manage line of sight and positioning carefully. Periodically, he collapses to one knee, his body flickering as the spectral half of his soul attempts to seize control.
Once his health drops below 60%, Azarian releases his tether, separating into two entities: the Body and the Shade. Players must fight both simultaneously, but the key lies in their bond damage dealt to one is mirrored partially onto the other. The Body uses heavy melee and ground effects; the Shade floods the arena with spectral illusions that mimic the player's movements. Victory depends on balancing aggression with restraint, striking when the two halves align and become vulnerable.
At 20% health, Azarian's halves rejoin in agony. The arena fractures, and the player is drawn into a collapsing dreamscape where time distorts. Here, he unleashes Echo of the Forsaken, a spell that traps the cheap POE 2 Exalted Orbs player in an illusion of their own past a brief, haunting sequence where they must shatter phantasms of their character's earlier sins to return to reality. Survive this phase, and Azarian collapses, whispering that the relic still calls for him from beyond.
